According to Foresight News, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution with 51 votes in favor and 47 against, to terminate President Trump's comprehensive tariff policy implemented globally. These resolutions will next need to be voted on by the House of Representatives, but Republican members of the House have previously blocked legislative actions to overturn the tariffs multiple times, and these resolutions are expected to have difficulty passing a vote in the House. Even if the House eventually passes them, Congress would still need a two-thirds absolute majority to override a presidential veto. Previously, the Senate had passed two resolutions aimed at eliminating tariffs imposed on Canada and Brazil.
