Golden Finance reported that @wbnns, the developer of Base, stated that the Base team will increase the gas target for each block from 7.5Mgas/second to 8.125Mgas/second. This is part of our ongoing efforts to scale up and make Base as fast, cheap, and user-friendly as possible for people around the world to use. For most users, no action is required, but if you run a Base node and notice that it is falling behind with increasing network activity:

Monitor CPU and disk I/O usage;
Increase disk throughput and use disks with lower read/write latency (NVMe SSDs are recommended);
Improve CPU, focus on single core speed.
